Whimsadoodle Inc. to Steward Estes Park's Historic Park Theatre

Nonprofit to Preserve and Enhance Esteemed Cultural Landmark

Whimsadoodle Inc. has announced its commitment to invest in and oversee the future of the Historic Park Theatre, ensuring the continuation of a cherished legacy in Estes Park.

Established in 1913, the Park Theatre stands as the oldest single-house motion picture theatre in the United States that was originally built as a movie theatre and is still operating today. Its iconic tower, added in 1929, remains a defining feature of downtown Estes Park.

For decades, the Stanger family has been instrumental in preserving the theatre's unique charm and community-focused mission. Their dedication has kept the venue thriving as a hub for films, live performances, and communal events.

Looking ahead, Whimsadoodle Inc. plans to initiate thoughtful renovations in the spring. These updates aim to honor the theatre's historic essence while enhancing facilities, expanding programming, and improving accessibility for future generations.

As a nonprofit organization, Whimsadoodle welcomes community support and donations to help preserve, restore, and expand the programming of the Historic Park Theatre.

In addition to the theatre's developments, Estes Park is set to host the First Peoples Festival from January 16 to 18, 2026. This event will celebrate Indigenous culture through art markets, cultural demonstrations, live music, and more, further enriching the town's vibrant cultural scene.
