Aspen & Evergreen Gallery Seeks Artists for 'Dead of Winter' Exhibition Amid Frozen Dead Guy Days 2026

Call for Artists to Showcase Winter-Inspired Works in Estes Park's Celebrated Festival

Aspen & Evergreen Gallery is thrilled to announce a Call for Artists for the upcoming Dead of Winter Art Exhibition and Frozen Dead Guy Days 2026 Art Sale.

This unique event is set to take place in March in Estes Park, coinciding with the town's renowned Frozen Dead Guy Days festival.

Artists across all visual mediums are invited to submit works that draw inspiration from winter, folklore, dark humor, surrealism, and the playfully strange spirit of Frozen Dead Guy Days.

This exhibition aims to celebrate creativity, foster community engagement, and integrate art into the heart of the festival.

Selected artworks will be featured in the gallery exhibition and available for sale.

Due to space constraints, not all pieces may be displayed simultaneously at the gallery.

Key Dates:

Entry Applications Due: February 15

Artwork Submission Deadline: February 27

Gallery Exhibition & People's Choice Voting: March 10–27

During this period, artworks will be displayed at Aspen & Evergreen Gallery, allowing visitors to vote for the People's Choice Award.

Artist Reception, Mixer & Awards Night: March 27 (evening)

Frozen Dead Guy Days Art Sale: March 28

On this day, artworks will be moved to the festival site for public sale.

Awards are designed to be fun, celebratory, and inclusive, emphasizing creativity over competition.

Best in Show

Most Frozen Dead Guy

Cold, Dead and Beautiful

Best Use of Dark Humor

Best Weird / Most Unexpected

Honorable Mention

People's Choice Award

Categories may be adjusted based on submissions.

Artists are encouraged to explore playful, eerie, humorous, thoughtful, and unexpected interpretations of the theme.
